Obituary of Bettye E. Bell

We are sad to announce the passing of our sweet mother, Bettye E. Bell, 95 of St.Petersburg. She went home to be with her dear Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday,September 12, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years,Frank T. Bell. Bettye’s survivors include her son, David, and his wife, Pamela; and Virginia McCrory, her sister and only remaining sibling. There are also nieces and nephews in Florida, Tennessee and Colorado. Bettye was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee, on December 27, 1925. She was one of six children, which included four brothers and her sister. Bettye attended Fayetteville Central High School where she played on the girl’s basketball state championship team. After high school, Bettye attended business school in Nashville, Tennessee. It was in Nashville that she met and married her beloved husband, Frank. The two moved to Springfield, Missouri, and then to Florida in 1956, and settled in Pinellas Park in 1957. For many years, Bettye was Personnel Manager for Pet Dairy, from where sheretired. After that, she and Frank kept busy serving their Lord and Savior at Starkey Road Baptist Church and at the Keswick Conference Center in Seminole. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday, September 17, 2021 from 10 am until service time at 11 am. She will be interred with her husband at Chapel Hill Cemetery on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 2 pm.
