Kenneth Owen Bouslough, formerly of Lake Mills, WI passed away peacefully September 1 in Clearwater, FL. The youngest of three children born to Carlos Ulrich Bouslough and Daarta Johanna (née Ostevik) Bouslough of Mauston, WI, Ken joined the small family farm July 11, 1929. A family move to southwest Wisconsin gave him the chance to meet Elizabeth King, whom he married upon returning from US Army service in the Korean Conflict. In 1965, Ken & Betty moved their young family to Lake Mills, WI after the purchase of the Westin Funeral Home. Ken and his family enjoyed many lovely years in Lake Mills; serving the community in Funeral Care and enjoying good friends and neighbors. Upon Betty’s passing in 1991, Kenneth retired to Florida enjoying sunny days, year-round tennis, boat shows and travel. New found friends and family visits along with special companion Jeanne filled the next 30 years with good stories, good meals and the best of all memories.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gwendolyn Jane and husband Jim, brother Gordon Lee and wife Orilee, niece Catherine Ann, partner in life & beloved wife Elizabeth, beloved companion Jeanne, son-in-law Jeffrey Hanson and four of the dearest grand-dogs.
Kenneth is survived by daughters Jane and Laura, grandson Christopher ‘Aces’ Cornolo, niece & nephews Julie Raub (Mickey) Carl Bouslough (Barb) Eric Davis (Emily) and their lovely children; specially selected family Jim & Lyn Holcum, Doug & Jenny Winders, David & Alisa Hand; specially selected Grands & Great Grands Chris & Jaime, Jessica & Mick, Ben & Kira, Daniel & Hana, Katie & Dustin, Dearest Audrey and Amelia and the Precious Littles. Known as ‘So Big’ to his special Grands & Great Grands, he loved them all! Known as ‘The guy with the carrots’ to his grand dog Millicent, she will be missing his lap.
Few words can describe the depth of compassionate care and support shown to our father by the entire Suncoast Hospice/Empath Health Care Team. Nearly constant support and care by Tammy, Sonja and Jordan prove there are angels among us. A Veteran’s gravesite service at Bay Pines National Cemetery, St Petersburg, FL is planned for December.
