Simpson, William Allen, 76, of St. Petersburg, FL, born in Grand Rapids, MI, died September 19, 2020, at Hospice Woodside. He graduated from Boca Ciega High School in 1962 where he quarterbacked for the football team then completed two years at The Citadel, became Staff Sgt US Army Reserve - MP and graduated from Florida State University. Bill was known for wearing many hats as a High School football referee, real estate broker, movie connoisseur, avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers, FSU and USF Bulls football fan, TB Rays fan,and was nicknamed “Suit Case Simpson” in popular local bands. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Simpson (Adele); children Tracy Duerst, Gregory Simpson (Jackie) and Sean Simpson; grandchildren Tara Garner (Nathan), Hunter Duerst and Luke Simpson; great-grandson Drake Duerst; several nieces and nephews; and his significant other, Donna Anahata. Due to Covid-19, the family is limited to the number of guests at the Memorial service. Thank you for understanding during this difficult time. The family is requesting donations to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
