Obituary of Donna Annette White

Donna Annette White passed away on May 7, 2020 at 80 years old. Donna was born in Kittanning, PA to parents Geraldine Hayes and Willard “Bucky” Hayes on January 27, 1940. She graduated from Redbank Valley High School, and received her degree from Syracuse University. Donna was a drama teacher at Gibbs High School for 31 years. Donna was extremely involved in the theatre communities of Florida. Donna is preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Hayes, and father Willard “Bucky” Hayes. Donna is survived by her sons, Chad (Melissa Miller) of Seminole, Fl.; and Shane White; her daughter-in-law, Hiromi White; her grandchildren; Zen and Mary Jane White of Hawaii; her brother Robert Hayes; and her sister Karen Emmings. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when we can all come together to celebrate her in a way she deserves. In lieu of an immediate celebration, the family would like to host a drive-by memorial at Donna’s home (The Purple Cottage) located at 8401 W. Gulf Blvd. Treasure Island, Fl. 33706 on Friday June 12th. Tables will be set out from the hours of 9am-8pm for Donna’s friends, students, and family to drive by and drop off flowers, photos, cards, something purple, etc. The family has setup a scholarship fund and is asking for donations to be made to the Florida Theatre Conference in name of the Donna White Scholarship for Theatrical Studies.
