Obituary of Diana L. Mosello

Diana L. Mosello (Dee), age 71, passed away on May 21, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born on January 27, 1949 in Niagara Falls, New York, the daughter of Robert J. Lavers and Roxena (Dunn) Lavers, both of whom predeceased her. She was the wife of Roger A. Mosello, who also predeceased her. Diana spent her childhood and adolescent years in Grand Island, New York and Centerville, Ohio. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1967. In the late sixties, she and her son, Donald J. Nesbitt, moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, which became her permanent home. She spent part of her working career in the hospitality industry as a bartender and then later in life joined Allstate Insurance Company in the insurance claims department until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed time at the beach, spending time with friends and, annually, a trip to the dog track for birthday celebrations. In earlier years, she was always up for any outdoor adventures, including helicopter rides, parasailing, fishing and even dining on the top of a construction crane. Diana was known for her fearless approach to life and always met any challenge with an almost stubborn determination. She was passionate about animals and had a unique way of communicating with them. To say the least, they always gravitated to her. She leaves behind her five “kitties”, who she loved and adored. Diana also loved anything that could grow and, therefore, had a love of cultivating plants and flowers which truly reflected her inner and outer beauty. She will always be remembered for her unwavering loyalty to family and friends, her incredible generosity and kindness and her spontaneous sense of humor and love of a good joke. Diana is survived by her son, Donald J. Nesbitt of Logan, Ohio, her sister, Pamela J. Cala, wife of Joseph J. Cala of Apollo Beach, Florida, her nephew, Joseph James Cala, husband of Katherine E. Cala of Whitsett, North Carolina and nephew, Robert A. Cala of Washington, D.C. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a time in the future when circumstances permit. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to: PCAS Animal Welfare Trust Fund, Pinellas County Animal Services, 12450 Ulmerton Road, Largo, Florida 33774, www.pinellascounty.org/animal services OR Lymphoma Research Foundation, Wall Street Plaza, 88 Pine St., Suite 2400, New York, New York 10005, www.lymphoma.org WE WILL REMEMBER YOU At the rising of the sun and at its going down – We will remember you At the blowing of the wind and the chill of winter - We will remember you At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring - We will remember you At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer - We will remember you At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn - We will remember you
