Olita Blanton (82) of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020, with her friends nearby. She lost her dearest companion and the love of her life (his "pretty-pretty") in May of 2019 and lost her dear brother, Ed in October of 2018. She has family and friends in Florida. We loved you, dear friend. Olita was a smart, strong, good woman always interested in people and things around her. She loved her husband, her family and friends, and her "sunshine". She did many things in her life, including riding on a train, flying in a plane, riding in a glass bottom boat, feeding a giraffe, watching flamingos, manatee, dolphins, and alligators, and loving and caring for parakeets, fish, and cats. She worked hard at being independent and doing the things she was able and learning new things in order to live in the community in her supported living program. She worked at PARC for many years. She tried hard to achieve her goals and to be independent and was always willing to try anything once. Olita enjoyed life in general - from country music to going out to eat to caring for her home and shopping to having great trips and adventures. She loved cooking, gardening, doing memory books, family pictures, and finding recipes to try. We wish to thank Jim, "grandson", for gently caring for Olita. There are no services scheduled at this time.
