Rose A Carts, age 77, passed away peacefully September 23, 2020 after a battle with cancer. She was born July 21, 1943 as Rose Anna Phelps in Flemington, West Virginia to Robert and Vernie Phelps. She married Creston A. Carts and had a wonderful marriage to which they enjoyed over 30 years together before he preceded her in death in 1999. Through her lifetime, Rose was an independent thinker, loving Mother to her only child, Lisa Carts Ratcliffe, loving Grandmother to her only grandson, Matthew R. Blair. She was a devoted Wife, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend to all that knew her. She thought outside the box, believed that everyone should be able to spend time alone and gain strength from it. She was spiritual in faith and enjoyed singing, dancing, listening to music, bingo, poker and road trips. She saw value in the little things in life and was grateful for all that she had every day. In her earlier years she worked as a legal assistant and, along with her husband, were the founders and creators of the Sundowner Campground and the proprietors of the AppleCarts Orchard in Hayesville, NC. She was a woman that knew the importance of a balanced life before this was a thing. Appreciated all the people in her life both past and present. She was always described as a lady and known for her exuberant spirt and zest for life until the very end. She will be missed every day, but we are grateful to her for the positive mark that she left in our lives, our hearts and our memories. A graveside memorial service will be held on October 2, 2020, 11 am at Sunnyside Cemetery in St Petersburg.
